ABOUT ME
My name is Aileen Hernandez, I am currently in my junior year at Colorado State University. I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design with a concentration in graphic design. I was born and raised in Colorado as part of a large Hispanic household. Growing up I was greatly influenced by the hard working men and ambitious women in my family. It began at an early age when I would tag along with my father to work at the start of a new construction project and at the end of the project. Seeing a piece of land go from dirt and gravel to a beautifully erected structure has always fascinated me.
During my first two years of high school my father was hard at work making a name for himself as an independent welder. From this came his own business, JBR Welding in which he takes on both residential and commercial projects. From there on, the time that was not spent at school or in sports, I was alongside my father meeting with clients and visiting more construction sites. What began as me helping my father break the language barrier between him and his clients, resulted in discovering my passion for creating experience emitting interior environments.
